Supporting Victims of Elder Abuse – Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2022
June 15 | 10:00 am - 1:00 pm£45
In Support of Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we have created a training course to explore how domestic abuse can affect older victims. Through an interactive programme you will begin to understand the additional complexities for older victims including the dynamics of abuse, the relationship with the abuser (who may be an adult child) and barriers in accessing support.
Upon completion of the course you will be able to:
- Understand why older victims are often regarded as “hidden victims”
- Understand the challenges when working with older victims and become confident in addressing those challenges
- Have increased confidence in supporting victims by offering safety advice and referrals to specialist services
- Have the tools to ensure you are able to be professionally curious when engaging with older people.
The course costs £45 and you will have the option to pay using a Debit or Credit card after registering. If you wish to pay by invoice, please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our training events are usually heavily oversubscribed. If there are no places left for this training session, please email us at the above address and we will let you know when new dates
