Supporting Older Victims of Domestic Abuse – North Yorkshire and City of York Professionals

January 22 | 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Join IDAS for this half day virtual training session.

This course has been jointly commissioned by North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council and should only be attended by professionals working within the North Yorkshire and City of York areas. Click here for a list of our national courses open to all professionals.

This course covers:

  • Older people as hidden victims
  • The issues and effects of domestic abuse on older people
  • The complexities older people may experience in abusive situations
  • The challenges of working with an older group of victims and the importance of adopting a tailored approach
  • North Yorkshire Pathways for referring to domestic abuse services
  • What domestic abuse services exist in North Yorkshire, and how they can help.

We run a programme of domestic abuse training events throughout the year in collaboration with North Yorkshire County Council. These events are free and available to professionals working in North Yorkshire. We have limited places and it is therefore important that you only register for a course if you intend to attend. If you are unable to attend your course for any reason, you must unregister so someone else can take your place. IDAS will report repeat incidents of non-attendance to your direct report.

We operate a three strikes policy and non-attenders who miss three sessions will be blocked from registering for future IDAS training.
