Half day, live, online course

Are you new to the role of MARAC Representative or considering stepping into the role? This focused, interactive session is designed to equip current and prospective MARAC Representatives with the knowledge and confidence needed to represent their organisation effectively at Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC).

Through practical guidance and real-world examples, you’ll explore how to prepare thoroughly for MARAC, what information to bring, how to contribute meaningfully during the meeting, and what actions your organisation can offer to support high-risk victims of domestic abuse. You’ll leave with a strong understanding of the purpose and structure of MARAC, and how your role can make a tangible difference in safeguarding and multi-agency coordination.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Understand the purpose and function of MARAC
Identify who should act as a MARAC Representative
Confidently prepare for and contribute to MARAC meetings
Collate and present relevant information effectively
Explain the types of actions agencies can take following MARAC discussions
Represent their organisation’s responsibilities clearly and professionally

This half day course is free to all Sheffield workers because we have funding from SCC. If you do not work in Sheffield, please see our national training programme which can be accessed by everybody.

We run a programme of domestic abuse training events throughout the year in collaboration with Sheffield City Council. These events are free and available to professionals working in Sheffield. We have limited places and it is therefore important that you only register for a course if you intend to attend. If you are unable to attend your course for any reason, you must unregister so someone else can take your place. IDAS will report repeat incidents of non-attendance to your direct report.

We operate a three strikes policy and non-attenders who miss three sessions will be blocked from registering for future IDAS training.
