Safeguarding Children and Young People Affected by Domestic Abuse: Hidden Harm – CPD Accredited
Prioritising the physical safety and emotional wellbeing of children and young people experiencing domestic abuse in their families.
Children and young people experiencing domestic abuse in the family face significant risks to their physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing, even if they are not directly targeted by the abuser. This has led the NSPCC to categorise it as child abuse. Protecting children in these circumstances should be every professional’s priority, and children should be safeguarded as victims of the abuse in their own right.
